DOCTOR BLAMES EMPLOYEE CARELESSNESS FOR DUMPSTER INCIDENT

According to an article by Susan Gamble posted to the website of the Bradford Expositor (Bradford, Ontario) on February 1st, the Canadian College of Physicians and Surgeons are investigating the improper disposal of medical records after patient documents were found in a garbage bin behind a local medical clinic.

The article states that a passerby noticed confidential papers blowing around the parking lot, only to later find that the garbage dumpster behind the clinic was stuffed with bags of shredded paper along with unshredded documents and letters.

The doctor responsible for the protection of the information blamed employee carelessness for the incident and said steps will be taken so that this does not happen again.
